President Ding Rongyu Led Delegation to Attend ICDE Leadership Summit 2024

From June 5th to 7th, President Ding Rongyu led a delegation to Geneva, Switzerland, to attend ICDE Leadership Summit 2024 themed "Ethical Leadership in the Age of AI: Rethinking Futures of Education".

At the parallel workshop session on "Higher Education Leadership for Social Justice in the Age of AI", Ding was invited to give an academic report on "The Structure Dimensions and Improvement Paths of Digital Intelligence Leadership in Open Education". Also at the summit, Ding had in-depth exchanges with experts and scholars in the field of open distance education, such as Professor Christoph Stückelberger, President of Globethics, and Professor Ojat Darojat, President of AAOU, discussing the opportunities and challenges faced by open education in the age of AI.

During the visit, JSOU’s delegation had thorough discussions with universities with distinctive characteristics and rich experience in the field of open and distance education, and reached strategic cooperation intentions in deepening research, teacher exchange, student exchange, and other fields, depicting a new blueprint of the university’s international development.

Xu Hao, Director of the School Office, Huang Li, Dean of the School of Information Technology, and Li Ling from the School Office, gave full academic reports in parallel forums on respective topics: "Practical Application of Artificial Intelligence in the Future Construction of Higher Education", "Artificial Intelligence Reshaping the Future Education Ecosystem with Resilience", and "Artificial Intelligence Empowers Open and Distance Education for Open University".

Participating in this ICDESL2024 marks a big step for JSOU to get closer to the international frontier of open and distance education in the age of AI, to further expand the cooperation with ICDE members, and to enhance the international cooperation in education, so as to accelerate the university's internationalization and extend its circle of influence.
