On October 12, JSOU and Jiangsu Phoenix Xinhua Bookstore Group of Phoenix Publishing and Media Group (PPMG) signed a collaboration agreement and unveiled “Suxiang Academy”. Attendees included leaders from JSOU, led by President Ding Rongyu, and others from the PPMG.
Zhang Chaoyang, PPMG Chairman, highlighted the importance of combining the Group’s cultural resources with JSOU’s educational expertise to build an “Elderly Education+” system. The initiative aims to enhance elderly education through innovative courses, high-quality instruction, and a flagship brand, fostering a senior-friendly society and advancing Jiangsu’s silver economy.
Ding Rongyu emphasized the significance of addressing Jiangsu’s rapidly aging population by enhancing elderly well-being. He called for leveraging both institutions’ strengths to create a comprehensive education brand that provides diverse learning opportunities for seniors, supporting societal needs and provincial development goals.
At the ceremony, Vice President Yang Yu of JSOU and Deputy General Manager Qin Junjun of PPMG signed the cooperation framework agreement. It outlines resource sharing and joint course development to build a networked education framework, including flagship academies, local branches, and online platforms.
Ding and Zhang jointly unveiled the first “Suxiang Academy,” a pilot off-campus teaching site under the National Elderly University, Jiangsu Division. This initiative aims to expand elderly learning services and establish a widely recognized brand with regional and national influence. The event concluded with a tour of PPMG, strengthening ties between the two organizations.
