On December 22, the “OU Cup” Robot Contest, hosted by Jiangsu Open University, concluded successfully at the sports hall of its Yingtian Campus. This grand event brought together over 100 college students from 27 teams representing 21 universities, including open universities and traditional universities across the country. As part of the China University Robot Contest ROBOTAC, the event catered specifically to open universities, combining robotics competition with academic exchange.
The 1V1 contest featured 18 teams, including participants from JSOU. Despite being the first time competing for most team members, they demonstrated exceptional teamwork, adaptability, and creativity in the face of complex and dynamic challenges. After two days of intense matches, the Changzhou Open University team claimed the championship, while the Nantong Open University team and Anhui Open University team secured second and third places, respectively.
In the 2V2 session, which involved nine university teams, participants developed highly stable four-wheeled infantry robots and agile two-wheeled balancing robots. They employed advanced strategies, delivering thrilling performances for the experts and spectators. Ultimately, the Nanhang Jincheng College team won the championship, followed by the Nanjing University of Science and Technology team and the China University of Mining and Technology team as the second and third place winners.
During the competition, JSOU hosted the Applied Universities Innovation Talent Development Forum under the theme “Innovation Drives Development, Talent Leads the Future”. The forum featured insightful presentations hosted by university professors and entrepreneurs, and was attended by robotics experts, corporate representatives, and participating university faculty.
The successful hosting of the “OU Cup” not only offered a platform for participants to showcase their talents but also highlighted the latest innovations and advancements in robotics technology. By contributing to industry-education integration, the competition exemplified JSOU’s commitment to fostering technological innovation. Moreover, it inspired students’ passion for technological innovation, laying a solid foundation for cultivating future innovators in science and technology.
