From December 12 to 14, the 12th Jiangsu-Taiwan Higher Vocational Education Presidents’ Joint Conference was held in Huai’an. Ding Rongyu, President of Jiangsu Open University, was invited to attend and preside over the keynote presentations.
The theme of this year’s Conference was “Enhancement, Integration, and Advancement—AI and Vocational Education Reform”. Presidents from both Jiangsu and Taiwan engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the new ecosystem of industry-education integration in the era of artificial intelligence, the connotations of vocational education under the framework of the “Double High Plan”, and the role of new-quality productive forces in empowering vocational education talent cultivation models.
In his remarks, Ding emphasized that with rapid technological advancements, artificial intelligence has become a critical force driving societal progress and industrial transformation. As a key avenue for cultivating skilled technical talent, vocational education faces unprecedented opportunities and challenges. He underscored the importance of improving the quality of vocational education, fostering deeper integration with industry, and achieving significant advancements in vocational education, noting that these are pressing issues every educator must thoughtfully address and actively tackle.
Since its establishment in 2013, the Jiangsu-Taiwan Higher Vocational Education Presidents’ Joint Conference has served as a crucial platform for fostering collaboration and exchanges between institutions in Jiangsu and Taiwan.
