On January 11, the 6th Yangtze IDI Annual Academic Conference was held in Nanjing, bringing together over 160 experts and scholars from various fields covering government, industry, academia, and research. JSOU President Ding Rongyu attended the event and delivered a speech.

Drawing on Friedrich Engels’ theory of historical synergy, Ding emphasized that regional economic growth is driven by the interplay of four key factors: reform, openness, innovation, and economic vitality. He outlined that reform serves as the foundation, openness as the driving force, innovation as the core, and economic vitality as the safeguard. He further argued that the innovation capacity and vitality of enterprises and other economic entities directly determine the sustainability of regional economic development. Later, he provided a comparative analysis of the economic growth drivers in Jiangsu and Guangdong Provinces, highlighting their differences in reform, openness, innovation, and economic vitality. He concluded that it is important to adopt a systematic and coordinated approach to stimulate economic entities, mitigate downward economic pressure, and ensure stable and sustainable economic development.

Several days ago, Ding attended an appointment ceremony hosted by Nanjing University’s Yangtze IDI, where he was appointed as a Distinguished Research Fellow.
