JSOU Holds Annual Scientific Research Conference

On January 8, JSOU held its annual scientific research conference. The event was attended by Party Secretary Jing Xuan, with speeches delivered by President Ding Rongyu and Vice President Zhang Xiao. Vice President Geng Huantong announced the commendation decisions, and Vice President Hang Zhuhong presided over the meeting.

Ding recognized the achievements of JSOU’s research development in 2024, congratulated the awarded faculty and research teams, and expressed gratitude to all faculty and students for their hard work. He outlined four key requirements for advancing the university’s research efforts: (1) Enhancing awareness and highlighting the importance of scientific research; (2) Improving research quality and efficiency through organized initiatives; (3) Strengthening the application-oriented approach; and (4) Leveraging resource advantages to build distinctive research programs.

In her report, Zhang highlighted significant achievements made in recent years, including total research funding of 37.73 million RMB, approval of six national-level projects (ranking second among vocational colleges nationwide), and 21 provincial and ministerial-level projects. Additionally, multiple policy advisory reports were endorsed and adopted by provincial leaders. She said, 2025 marks a critical year for JSOU’s 15th Five-Year Plan and proposed seven key measures for research development: (1) Enhancing awareness and establishing a long-term action plan; (2) Strengthening organizational leadership and top-level design; (3) Allocating targets effectively to ensure timely completion of research goals; (4) Utilizing research platforms to foster team-based innovation; (5) Enhancing project management and support; (6) Advancing industry-research integration; and (7) Innovating research mechanisms to improve governance.

During the awarding ceremony, Geng announced the commendation decisions, and Jing presented corporate secondment appointment letters to Technological Vice Presidents, while Ding and Deputy Secretary Niu Yutao awarded the President Award and the Outstanding Contribution Award to distinguished faculty and teams. The conference also featured experience-sharing sessions from the Business School and the School of Rural Revitalization.

Hang concluded the conference by outlining four specific implementation requirements: deepening understanding, maintaining goal-oriented focus, exerting comprehensive efforts, and ensuring systematic collaboration.

Other university leaders, school deans, young faculties with a PhD degree, and key research fellows attended the event in person, while other faculty members joined online.
