Recently, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security released its list of advanced training programs for the 2025 Knowledge Renewal Project for Professional and Technical Talents. A total of 300 projects nationwide were approved for implementation. Among them, the “Empowering Urban Renewal and the Integration of Digital and Intelligent Development through Large AI Models” project, led by Professor Xu De from Jiangsu Open University, marked a historic breakthrough, being the university’s first national-level advanced training project in the field of social education.
This project is a thorough implementation of the strategic directions outlined at the 2024 Central Economic Work Conference and the State Council’s “Notice on Carrying Out Urban Renewal Pilot Programs”. Supported by AI technologies, it focuses on demolition, renovation, investment, and construction in urban renewal areas. Targeting emerging industries such as the low-altitude economy, smart urbanization, and future communities, the project offers specialized training to professionals nationwide across areas including the real estate, architecture, transportation, water conservancy, and tourism. The project team is composed of over ten experts with senior professional titles, led by Academician Xiang Jinwu from Beihang University.
Beforehand, JSOU’s Department of Social Education integrated resources, optimized operational mechanisms, and strengthened professional support to establish 12 specialized social education training centers serving different sectors. To date, these centers have delivered over 150 training programs, both fee-based and public service-oriented.
