Report Meeting of Short-Term Training at Korea's Honam University Successfully Held

To comprehensively showcase the outcomes of the short-term training program attended by faculty and students from the School of Art at Korea's Honam University, and to deepen the sharing of international exchange experiences, the School of Art successfully held the Report Meeting of Short-Term Training at Korea's Hunam University on March 20th on Yingtian Campus. The meeting was attended by Ding Shujuan, Party General Branch Secretary, Zhang Jie, Deputy Secretary, Xia Xuemin and Cheng Di, Vice Deans, teacher representatives, all counselors, and student representatives from first- and second-year classes. Attendees witnessed the learning achievements and growth journey of the training team.

Since 2016, the School of Art has maintained a long-standing and friendly cooperative relationship with Korea's Hunam  University, annually selecting students to participate in short-term course training programs in Korea. From December 18th to 24th, 2024, the college dispatched a team of 15 faculty members and students to Korea's Hunam University for a week-long professional training program. They successfully completed their learning tasks and returned home smoothly.

At the beginning of the report meeting, the leading teacher, Sun Chen, provided an overall introduction to the Korean training project. She reviewed the cross-cultural learning experiences that faculty and students had at Korea's Hunam University. Sun Chen shared insights into the learning atmosphere, practical environment, and the challenges faced as well as the growth experienced by the team members. She highlighted that this training program combined company visits, hands-on practice, and theoretical discussions to gain an in-depth understanding of the cutting-edge technologies and market trends in Korea's beauty industry. This approach helped broaden the students' professional horizons, stimulated their artistic creativity, and cultivated art literacy with a more international perspective and innovative thinking.

Following the initial presentation by teacher Sun Chen, four groups from the Korean training team took turns to present detailed reports on their respective training topics. Throughout the presentations, students not only showcased their solid professional skills but also analyzed industry dynamics from an international perspective. The interactive sessions were lively, marked by enthusiastic audience participation and bursts of applause.

During her summary speech, Vice Dean Xia Xuemin commended the achievements of the training team, highlighting that this training program not only broadened students' international perspectives but also provided valuable experiences for future practical teaching at the college. She particularly played an introductory video featuring outstanding alumnus Cheng Mingyang, who shared his learning experiences in Korea. This was aimed at encouraging more students to actively participate in the 3+1 international cooperation project, enhancing their professional skills and comprehensive abilities, and embracing the global innovation wave in the art field with an open attitude.

The report meeting served as a concentrated showcase of the school's international education achievements and also provided a platform for cross-disciplinary and cross-grade exchanges among faculty and students. Looking ahead, the college will continue to promote international cooperation projects, integrating digital intelligence innovation with art design. This effort aims to help students refine their skills and cultivate their literacy under a global perspective, delivering more innovative and competitive interdisciplinary talents to the industry.
