From April 17 to 18, the Yangtze River Delta Open Education Credit Bank Symposium was held in Shaoxing, hosted by Zhejiang Open University as the rotating lead unit and co-organized by Shaoxing Open University.

On behalf of the Jiangsu Provincial Lifelong Education Credit Bank, Vice President Hang Zhuhong of Jiangsu Open University expressed sincere thanks to the host and co-organizer. In his remarks, he emphasized the strategic significance of building a regional credit bank system, noting that the current policy environment presents a valuable opportunity to consolidate institutional experiences and serve as a national model. To support integrated educational development in the Yangtze River Delta, he offered three key suggestions: Demand-oriented development, with a focus on practical application scenarios; Integrated innovation, using micro-credentials and micro-specializations to meet personalized learning needs; Digital empowerment, leveraging technology to enhance the presentation of learning outcomes and drive high-quality education through innovation.

During the symposium, directors from the credit bank management centers of Shanghai, Anhui, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu shared their 2025 work priorities. Discussions centered on the challenges of credit bank integration across regions, their role in strengthening lifelong learning systems, the use of digital tools to support transformation, and scenarios for applying cross-regional learning achievements. A particular focus was placed on micro-credential development, with consensus reached on standards, quality assurance, and their function as a bridge between academic and non-academic learning.

The symposium provided clear direction for the high-quality development of credit banks in the Yangtze River Delta. It outlined actionable goals and tasks, offering a roadmap for deeper collaboration among the four regions and laying a strong foundation for a regional lifelong learning system and shared educational resources.
