From May 16 to 18, the CAET 2025 Academic Conference was held in Wuhan, Hubei. The JSOU delegation led by Vice President Luo Yulan attended the conference, while Luo Yulan also hosted a parallel session on “Digitalization in Education: Empowering the Construction of a Learning Society”.
The conference conveyed the spirit of the 2025 World Digital Education Conference and focused on the “White Paper on China’s Smart Education” while addressing seven key topics. During the parallel session, Luo Yulan highlighted that we live in an era where technological innovation and education are deeply intertwined. Digital technologies are not only tools but central to promoting educational equity, optimizing resource allocation, and facilitating lifelong learning. She emphasized that building a learning society is both a national strategy and a foundation for personal development. The session focused on how digital technologies can break down the barriers of time, age, and space to promote lifelong learning.
Staff members from the Resource Construction Center, led by Director Cheng Lei, also attended the digital education forums. At the “Educational Data and Digital Human” subforum, they explored the balance between AI technology and humanistic care in the era of human-machine symbiosis. The team also visited the vocational education exhibition at Wuhan Open University, which was part of the official World Digital Education Conference.
