From June 16 to August 10, 2025, the School of Information Engineering at Jiangsu Open University collaborated with Compal Electronics (Kunshan) Co., Ltd., a Taiwan-funded enterprise, with support from Kunshan Open University, to conduct a specialized Python Programming training program. The school selected a team of experienced doctoral faculty members to develop a comprehensive theory-practice-application integrated training system tailored for over 10 Vietnamese trainees, with a focus on developing practical Python programming skills.
The program adopted an innovative three-dimensional training model combining theoretical foundation, practical empowerment, and project-driven learning, establishing a dual-mentor system with both academic instructors and industry experts. Faculty members from the School of Information Engineering delivered core Python programming knowledge through online platforms, incorporating real-world enterprise cases into the curriculum. Kunshan Open University provided hands-on training in industrial robotics and visual programming at its Smart Manufacturing Industry-Education Integration Base. Compal Electronics assigned technical experts as enterprise mentors to conduct on-site micro-training sessions at production facilities, creating a multi-level training mechanism.
Beyond enhancing technical skills, the program served as a cross-cultural educational exchange platform. Through systematic learning, Vietnamese trainees acquired problem-solving capabilities for practical engineering challenges, helping to cultivate technical talent for the company's global expansion. This university-enterprise dual-mentor training model offers new insights for open universities to support the Belt and Road Initiative.
Kunshan Open University played a pivotal role as a regional education hub in this collaboration, effectively aligning local industry needs with academic resources to facilitate the international partnership between Jiangsu Open University and Compal Electronics.
The program successfully integrated the practical expertise of enterprises in Taiwan, the academic resources of higher education institutions, and the learning needs of Vietnamese trainees. It represents an important achievement for the School of Information Engineering in promoting industry-education integration and expanding international cooperation.
