On the morning of September 27th, Jiangsu Open University (Jiangsu City Vocational College) held the Opening ceremony for Class of 2025 at the Gymnasium of Yingtian Campus, with livestreamed branch ceremonies connecting over 20,000 open-education students from 73 local open universities province-wide and 2,109 vocational-education students from across the nation.
The ceremony was attended by university leaders including Party Secretary Ding Rongyu, Deputy Party Secretary and President Zhang Yingchun, Deputy Party Secretary Niu Yutao, and Vice Presidents Liu Guiyou, Geng Huantong, Luo Yulan, Han Chenghui, and Hang Zhuhong, who presided over the event. Also present were administrators, faculty representatives, academic advisors, and counselors from municipal and county open universities across Jiangsu.

At the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition finals, our Business School team clinched the national silver medal, marking a groundbreaking milestone for our university in this prestigious event. At the ceremony, Party Secretary Ding Rongyu presented medals to student representatives who excelled at the World Vocational Skills Competition.

Deputy Party Secretary and President Zhang Yingchun delivered an impassioned inaugural lecture titled Rooted in Fertile Ground of Open Education, Embracing the Call of Our Times. Offering guidance on becoming whole in character, rich in spirit, and well-rounded in growth, President Zhang put forward three expectations: Nurturing independence and integrity, allowing values to crystallize through self-exploration; Forging physical resilience, sustaining lifelong vitality through fitness; Building compassionate connections, embracing courage in community.

Hua Shanshan from the School of Business delivered an insightful address, sharing invaluable competition preparation experiences. She encouraged fellow students to embrace dual pursuits: acquiring theoretical knowledge in classrooms while honing practical competencies in training laboratories.

Before the ceremony commenced, an introductory MV produced by the Resource Development Center ignited the atmosphere, while members of the University Art Troupe delivered heartfelt performances, weaving blessings through melody.
