JSOU Party Secretary Ding Rongyu Visits Zhangjiagang Open University and Suzhou Institute of Village Governance

On November 11, JSOU Party Secretary Ding Rongyu visited Zhangjiagang Open University and Suzhou Institute of Village Governance to strengthen institutional collaboration and explore new avenues for local engagement. The visit was attended by Cheng Jiawu, Secretary of the Zhangjiagang Education Working Committee and Director of the Municipal Education Bureau, Xu Jian, Member of the Education Working Committee and Party Secretary of Zhangjiagang Open University, and Huang Liyan, President of Zhangjiagang Open University.

Secretary Ding and his delegation toured training bases in logistics and drone application technology at Zhangjiagang Open University. They were briefed on the university’s achievements in industry-education integration and university-enterprise cooperation, and discussed challenges in resource coordination, program alignment with industry needs, and related areas. Secretary Ding commended the university's results and its competition-driven teaching model, calling for further improvements in training facilities, technological upgrades, and industry collaboration to develop talent for emerging sectors such as smart logistics and the low-altitude economy.

He emphasized that open universities, as key platforms for lifelong learning, should refine their positioning, deepen teaching reforms, strengthen internal collaboration, and enhance talent development and social services to better support local economic and social progress.

At Suzhou Institute of Village Governance, Ding reviewed the institute's educational practices, including facility development, faculty capacity building, teaching innovation, and learning environment cultivation.  He highlighted the institute’s approach to cultivating talent for grassroots governance and rural revitalization in line with modernization goals. Recognizing the institute’s achievements, he encouraged further development of its distinctive programs and expansion of its brand influence to contribute to modernizing grassroots governance systems and capabilities.
