On December 31, Yu Jian, Member of the Standing Committee and Executive Deputy Head of Gulou District, led a delegation to Jiangsu Open University for a meeting on jointly building a “6S” OPC Innovation Community to support high-quality digital economic development. The delegation included officials from various local government departments.
University Party Secretary Ding Rongyu welcomed the guests and presented the university’s “Three Thousand Open Professors in Jiangsu” initiative. He emphasized the university's role in supporting regional development and outlined a framework for the “6S” innovation ecosystem, which consists of Individuals (Shops), Scenarios, Space, Specialists, Strategy, and Supplies. This framework aims to foster an effective cycle of innovation and entrepreneurship that would position Gulou District as a leader in the field. Ding highlighted the importance of a practical approach, starting with key industries to establish a unique “Jiangsu OPC Open Community” brand, and called for collaboration in recruiting entrepreneurs and pilot projects.
President Zhang Yingchun expressed gratitude for the district’s support and reiterated the university's commitment to regional innovation. She emphasized the integration of educational resources and digital platforms to enhance the OPC Innovation Community. Zhang mentioned plans to document case studies and knowledge frameworks to encourage a cycle of talent development and project success. She also looks forward to learning from existing partnerships with companies like Baidu and fostering stronger cooperation among government, university, and industry for sustained regional growth.
After reviewing the “6S” OPC proposal, Yu Jian highlighted Gulou District’s focus on artificial intelligence and the importance of a talent-driven innovation ecosystem. He acknowledged the value of Jiangsu Open University’s network and the “Three Thousand Open Professors” initiative. Yu affirmed support for the “6S” plan, promising assistance in policies, resources, and ecosystem coordination to promote project success.
The meeting concluded with both sides discussing cooperation opportunities and operational strategies, agreeing on the next steps for collaboration.
