On January 27, Deputy Party Secretary Niu Yutao led a delegation to Lianshui County, Huai'an City, to visit Tang Peng, a university-appointed member of the Provincial Party Committee’s Rural Revitalization Work Team and First Secretary of Zhengtankou Village, Wugang Town. The team also visited local farmers and assessed support progress.
The delegation inspected the proposed site for a Comprehensive Agricultural Service Center, the Village Party and Mass Service Center, and newly installed streetlights, learning about livelihood projects and grassroots governance. They also visited a retired veteran Party member and children in need.
At a symposium, Xie Jiankang, Deputy Party Secretary of Lianshui County and Head of the Provincial Rural Revitalization Work Team, reported on the team’s achievements in team building, project progress, resource mobilization, and livelihood improvements, commending Tang Peng’s performance. Sun Honglin, Party Branch Secretary of Zhengtankou Village, described village changes since the team’s arrival. Yang Yan, Party Secretary of Wugang Town, introduced the town’s resources, history, and revitalization efforts. Tang Peng detailed his work since taking office in June 2024.
Niu Yutao expressed gratitude to the provincial work team and local leaders, acknowledging their dedication. He encouraged Tang Peng to fulfill his tasks successfully. He affirmed the university’s commitment to rural revitalization as a key political mission, pledging continued support through Jiangsu Open University’s strengths in education, technology, and talent.
The delegation also visited university students from financially disadvantaged families in Lianshui.
