Wuxi Open University Hosts Spring Break Campus Open Day Featuring AI and Intangible Cultural Heritage

On April 2, 2026, Wuxi Open University held a campus open day for primary and secondary school students during their spring break. The event, themed “AI Empowers Intangible Cultural Heritage,” attracted over 20 parent-child groups.

The afternoon began with a robot performance and a demonstration of quadruped robots by students from Wuxi Electromechanical Higher Vocationaland Technincal School, showcasing AI technology.

Participants then engaged in hands-on craft sessions using twist sticks and perler beads, gaining a quick and accessible introduction to traditional craftsmanship. Parents and children worked together to create their own pieces.

At the end, children shared their completed works and creative ideas.

The open day combined technology, cultural heritage, and hands-on activities, aiming to foster parent-child interaction, practical skills, and collaborative education involving schools, families, and the community.
