On April 21, 2026, the vocational college (higher vocational) category of the Jiangsu Vocational College Skills Competition, “Internet + International Economy and Trade” event, concluded at Jiangsu Vocational College of Economics and Trade. Li Wenqi and Xiong Chunyang, students from the Business Department of Wuzhong Open University, together with Zheng Haoyu from the Business School of Jiangsu City Vocational College, formed a joint team. Competing against 23 teams from across the province, they won first prize (gold medal). This marks Wuzhong Open University’s first participation in the higher vocational category of this competition and its first gold medal at the higher vocational level since offering five-year vocational programs.

The competition consisted of four modules: foreign trade operations, trade fulfillment, presentation of a full foreign trade project process, and cross-border e-commerce live streaming. The team demonstrated steady performance and clear role division, delivering seamless coordination and decisive actions to earn the judges’ recognition.

The achievement reflects the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its business programs and talent cultivation through a competition-driven teaching approach. In recent years, the Business Department has deepened industry-education integration and aligned curriculum with competition standards and emerging trends in digital trade.

Wuzhong Open University will continue to reform its teaching models and program development to enhance talent cultivation, promote craftsmanship, and contribute to regional economic and social development.
