On July 6, Jiangsu Open University (JSOU) and Jiangsu Salt Indurstry Co.,Ltd. Group (Suyan Group) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Nanjing, with a sub-venue at Huai’an Open University. The ceremony was attended by JSOU Party Secretary Ding Rongyu, President Zhang Yingchun, Vice Presidents Liu Guiyou and Yang Yu, and Suyan Group Chairman Zheng Hailong, General Manager Guo Yuchen, and other senior representatives.
In his address, Ding Rongyu described the two organizations as close neighbors and natural partners. He emphasized that the collaboration aims to align educational and enterprise networks across the province, connect research directly with production, and provide continuous educational support throughout workers’ careers. Concrete initiatives include joint training bases, a “Craftsman Star” class, and mutual faculty appointments.
Zheng Hailong outlined Suyan Group’s operations in salt, salt chemicals, and salt cavern utilization, noting its annual production capacity of 10 million tons. He expressed confidence that the partnership would advance innovation, talent development, and lifelong learning.
President Zhang Yingchun and General Manager Guo Yuchen signed the strategic agreement. Huai’an Open University and Suyan-Jingshen Company also signed a parallel cooperation agreement.
As initial outcomes, the two sides established the “Jiangsu Lifelong Learning Training Base” and the “JSOU Inspection and Testing Industry-Education Integration Practice Base.” Nine Su Salt technical experts were appointed as “Jiangsu Open Professors,” while JSOU faculty members Qin Pinzhu and Liu Xia were appointed as enterprise technical advisors.
The “Craftsman Star” class for Suyan-Jingshen employees also opened at Huai’an Open University, serving as a pilot for industry-education integration at the production level. The program aims to gradually expand to cover more positions and support the career development of over 1,700 industrial workers.
The agreement marks a step into substantive implementation. Future cooperation will focus on four areas: talent development, resource coordination, research collaboration, and Party building integration, with joint efforts in AI-enabled enterprise management, production-oriented service innovation, overseas brand expansion, and safety training.
