From July 28 to 30, Ding Rongyu, Party Secretary of JSOU, attended an international forum themed Digital Intelligence Empowering Lifelong Learning: Building a New Ecosystem for Global Lifelong Learning at Guizhou Open University. The forum was a key event of the 2026 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week and the first themed forum on lifelong education since the event's inception. Government representatives, experts, and scholars from China, ASEAN countries, and Australia gathered in Guiyang to discuss frontier issues in digital-intelligence-enabled lifelong education.
At the forum, the China-ASEAN Lifelong Education Cooperation Alliance was officially established. As the first regular cooperation platform for lifelong education with ASEAN, the Alliance was voluntarily initiated by schools, institutions, and organizations engaged in lifelong education in China, ASEAN countries, and other countries. It aims to promote cooperation in four areas: mutual learning of teaching models, sharing of teaching resources, joint development of teaching standards, and collaborative research in educational theory.
During the forum, Ding Rongyu exchanged views with representatives on mutual learning of lifelong education concepts, sharing of digital education resources, and mutual recognition of learning outcomes. He also shared practical experience in lifelong education systems, community education, and senior education. As a core member of the Alliance, JSOU will leverage the platform and its strengths in lifelong education to promote lifelong learning for all and digital-intelligence innovation. It will deepen exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN countries in lifelong education, contributing to an accessible lifelong education system and the Belt and Road education community.
